Masseter Botox
Also known as jaw Botox, this Botox application aims to resolve bruxism, the problem of teeth grinding, by limiting the excessive activity of the masseter muscle, one of the strongest facial muscles.
It also aims to aesthetically correct the angular, asymmetrical appearance of the face caused by excessive growth (hypertrophy) of this chewing muscle. Botulinum toxin application creates a temporary blockage in the jaw muscles. For very strong masseter muscles, injections may also be made into the temporal muscle if necessary, and the use of a dental splint may also be recommended.
WHY DOES THE MASSETER MUSCLE GROW?
1) Genetically determined muscle mass size
2) Stressful personality, teeth grinding at night
3) Chewing gum
4) Dental occlusion/bite disorders
5) Dental aesthetics (veneers, zirconium)
6) Unilateral chewing habit
WHY IS MASSETER BOTTOX PERFORMED?
1) To control excessive muscle activity caused by teeth clenching or grinding.
2) To help correct the jawline and soften facial features.
3) To achieve the elegance of an inverted triangle in the lower half of the face, reflecting the golden ratio.
4) In short, it is done both for health reasons and to improve aesthetic appearance.
HOW IS MASSETER BOTULINUM TOXIN APPLIED?
