SELFIE AESTHETICS

Social media continues to affect every aspect of our lives. Did you know that the selfie craze has increased the rate of “Cosmetic Procedures” by 25% worldwide?

Selfie poses, which have brought innovation to the world of photography and remain in the spotlight, have become the most popular photos of recent times. However, these photos, taken without anyone’s help, reveal many facial flaws when taken from the wrong profile.

For a more photogenic look; requests for sharp jawlines, voluminous lips, perfectly shaped noses without humps, bony cheeks, etc., are increasing daily for us aesthetic doctors.

Unfortunately, we can also observe that the age range is gradually decreasing. As a medical aesthetic physician with 20 years of experience, I often try to minimize my interventions through persuasion.

As the name suggests; it’s a virtual world! And no one is perfect, really. We need to focus on what is, not what appears to be, and guide these patients correctly.

Our goal shouldn’t be to create prototypes; our primary priority should be to emphasize that every person naturally has a certain amount of asymmetry in their face and body, that small touches matter, and that aesthetic procedures should be performed in a way that won’t lead to future regrets.
